Crossword Rally™ Privacy Policy
Promotional Merchandising Solutions
Effective date: September 1, 2026
Overview
This policy explains what information Crossword Rally™ collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It reflects only the practices actually implemented in the app. We aim to collect the minimum needed to run the game and improve it during the beta period.
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a nickname you choose. Your password is never stored in plain text and is handled by our authentication provider. You may also optionally configure a public avatar and display name for leaderboards.
Gameplay and progress
We record which puzzles you start, complete, or abandon, your points, tokens, streaks, level, and completion times so the game can save your progress and award rewards. For signed-in members this is stored server-side; for guests it is stored locally on your device until you sign in.
Beta feedback submissions
If you choose to submit beta feedback, we store the category, rating, recommendation score, and any message you type, along with the puzzle context and the app route you were on. Feedback is visible only to the app administrators for review and triage.
Beta technical diagnostics
During the beta we may collect anonymous technical diagnostics such as device/browser type, viewport size, app version, puzzle load times, and runtime errors. These help us find bugs and improve performance. You may opt in to attaching a diagnostic snapshot when submitting feedback; diagnostics are never attached without your explicit consent.
Scores, rankings and game activity
When you complete a puzzle, your score, completion time, and assistance usage may be used to compute competitive rankings and leaderboard standings. If you opt in to the leaderboard, your public nickname and avatar appear alongside your ranking.
Purchase and subscription information
If and when payment systems are active, purchases (such as token packs or ad-free subscriptions) are processed by our payment provider. We receive a record of the transaction (product, amount, status) to grant your entitlement, but your full card details never reach our servers — they are handled solely by the payment provider.
Advertising and rewarded ads
If and when ads are active, rewarded ads may grant you bonus tokens. We record that a rewarded ad was started and completed so we can credit your account. No ad-tracking identifiers beyond what is needed to grant the reward are intentionally collected by the app.
What we do NOT record
Crossword Rally™ does not intentionally record:
- Your passwords or authentication tokens
- The individual letters you type into crossword cells
- Microphone or camera data
- Precise GPS location
How information is used
We use the information above to operate the game, save your progress, compute scores and rankings, process purchases, fix bugs, and improve the beta. We do not sell your information.
Third-party providers
Our authentication, database hosting, and (when active) payment providers receive the information necessary to perform their functions — for example, your email for authentication, or transaction details for payment processing. These providers process data under their own privacy policies.
Retention and deletion
Guest progress is kept on your device and is removed when you clear browser storage. For signed-in members, account and gameplay data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Contact below).
Your choices
You can play as a guest without creating an account. You can opt in or out of the leaderboard from your profile. You can choose whether to attach diagnostics to beta feedback. You can request access to or deletion of your data at any time.
Contact
For privacy questions, data access, or deletion requests, contact the developer:

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above. The separate in-app Beta Data Notice provides a short summary of beta diagnostics and is kept up to date independently.
